Hi guys, All I want to do is I would like to use simulator to test ES future contract from 2012, scroll through a daily chart one day at a time. That's it. I set up a trial account with you. I have SC up and running on my computer. I can only see EURUSD, so I got a $5 trial, but can't see any data for any other symbol. I tried restarting SC and changing different settings from documents I read but nothing. I find the instructions difficult. Ive spent a few hours trying to figure this out. I followed this link as best as I could: I'm finding it hard to get working and follow exactly what I need to do. https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#SetupInstructions WHAT STEPS I TOOK: I logged into SC online account, I have paid $5 credit. I then select the data feed I want, and fill out the questionnaire and sign everything. When I go to 'activate' I see red error messages warning me, not to select activate unless I have a real futures account funded with money. I dont, I only have a paper account with you guys. So what do I do? Do I click 'activate'? Also I tried going into SC and disconnecting and reconnection with 'SC Data - All services [data]' but can only see EURUSD I cannot see any other symbol. After messing around with this, and it failing, I tried to add an Interactive Account as my broker (I have an IB account but I have no data subscriptions on this and do not really wish to use it - I only tried because I couldnt get anything else to work) I ideally dont want to connect with a trading account, Id rather just use historical data. I read something about problems with CME. Does that include for historical data? Can I run a sim on ES since 2012? I could not connect. Please advise, thank-you Thankyou |

This is not difficult. You just open a chart through File >> Find Symbol >> Futures-Indices. Refer to: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GettingStarted.php#OpenChart This is it. You do not need the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. We are going to cancel that for you. Hi thank-you, Im looking through link now. I finding it a bit difficult because lots of links. Before you cancel my subscription, please can you confirm the following: 1) Can I trade ES since 2012 on a daily chart in the sim? 2) When I replay the chart in the sim, I'd like to see the daily bar update (so I can see how it forms throughout the day) From my understanding I will need minute data and select intraday historical chart, then change settings to 7-0-0 Thank-you very much Rich |

1. Yes. 2. Yes. For 1 Day chart bars you would use 1-0-0. This is Days-Minutes-Seconds. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Ah great thank-you. It's all working now! Not sure if I should create a new support question or if ok to append to this. When I place trades, I can see a spreadsheet of the entry and exits, but I cannot see which trade made profit or loss.. all I see is a list of filled orders. When I go to 'Trade Activity Log' I cannot see profit/loss for each trade. The cells are all 0.00. Please see screenshot Is it possible to view each pair of trades, i.e. open and close? Yes. Follow the instructions here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeActivityLog.php#TradesTabBasicInstructions The problem is you did not select a simulated symbol in the list of symbols at the top of the Trade Activity Log. Hi thank-you , yes it works now.. I did select 'All symbols' so you would have thought be very definition that included the symbol I was interested in. Either way, it works now thanks. |

You need to read the documentation to understand that particular setting. That setting is clearly explained: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeActivityLog.php#ViewingHistoricalTradeActivity Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
