The charts are not showing any historical data, just the current bar, and delete and re-download has not corrected the issue. The message log shows:

Error posting message in c_AsyncWindow::PostMessage. Windows error code 1400: Invalid window handle. | 2017-03-02 08:40:25 *

Version 1522, issue has appeared since update from ~December 2016 release.

Deleted the "SierraChartInstance2" folder and started the program again so it creates a clean new instance, same issue.

For an issue like this, we recommend restarting your computer.

Duplicable across restarts.
What do you need to help?

The data in the sub instance has "gaps" even though the data for the same symbol exists in the primary instance (same bar interval). Delete and redownload data does not work (only the most recent bar appears, populated by live ticks but not backfilling)

OK we need to think about this.

We do not have any other report of this.

First thing we need you to do is to provide the entire Message Log from the instance of Sierra Chart where you see the "Error posting message in c_AsyncWindow::PostMessage. Windows error code 1400: Invalid window handle" message. Follow these instructions:

Running in "safe mode" the issue does not present.
Will review safe mode documentation.

Have there been recent changes to ASCIL? I'll recompile the DLLs of custom studies.

Downgrading to version 1500 (the first prior version I tried) has fixed the issue. Will step through each release and report back which version introduces the change, when time permits. Thank you.

That is not going to help us because there is an extensive and very costly amount of work on our side to actually then determine what changed which might be causing the problem and we would not undertake that kind of effort being that there are no known problems with the current code and no one else is having this problem.

It also appears you are not running Sierra Chart on Windows. In this particular case, there is no way we can solve this problem. In this case we would not undertake the costly effort to determine what the problem is because we likely cannot do anything about it anyway. When you use Sierra Chart on another operating system you run the risk of these problems.

After you use File >> New Instance. Exit from that newly started instance and then manually start it through the file manager by running Sierra Chart.exe in its own folder. This is only a suggestion. See if that helps.
