I have two separate Instances (with different ID numbers) of SC open where I trade the GBPUSD on both. I trade shorts on the one SC and longs on the other. Both are logged in the the same IB account. Is there a way to NOT have the longs show on the Short SC Instance and vice versa? Is there a way to unaffectedly use two SC applications for this purpose? |

Make sure you are using different Client ID numbers. Refer to step number 18 here: Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions And also use the Order Fill Calculated Position: Trading Information Windows: Using Order Fill Calculated Positions In Special Cases We think this will work for you. I did as you advised, and the one Trading Dome is working fine now, with the Order Fill Calculated Position, and does not show the orders from the second SC Trading Dom and chart. Thank you. However, the other Trading DOM is showing a position open, but I made sure on my brokerage platform (IB) that is not actually the case. There is no open position. I went to the Trade Activity Log >> Edit and tried to CLEAR, but cannot clear - see screenshot. I also closed everything, restarted, went trough everything again, but still no change. When I uncheck "Use Order Fill Calculated Position", the "open" position disappears. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-12-09 19:10:13

This is the solution to the problem: It is also supported to calculate the Trade Position data from a specific Date-Time. Select Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings on the chart or Trade DOM menu. Set the Order Fills Start Date-Time to the Date-Time of where the order fills should begin at or after to use in the calculation. This Date-Time is relative to the Time Zone setting in Sierra Chart or the Chart. The reason you cannot clear the Trade Activity data is because in the list of symbols at the top of the Trade Activity Log you did not select the symbol. We can see that in the screenshot you provided. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. As described above, I use two instances of SC, one for longs and a separate one for Shorts. When I tested it on SIM using your advise given above, it worked fine. Now in real time trading, the long position is showing on my Short SC - see attached. |

Do you see the Order Fill for the long created Trade Position, showing in the Trade Activity Log in the instance of Sierra Chart you are using for short Positions. Yes, the Order fills for my Long trades show in the Trade Activity Log of the SC I use for Shorts - attached please find a screenshot of the Trade Activity Log of the Short SC Instance (yesterday I only took long trades). I also checked again, Instance Client ID's are not the same and Use Order Fill Calculated Positions is checked on both DOM's. |

Therefore, we do not have a solution to offer. We thought the order fills will remain separate but apparently not. Other than to recommend that you use a separate account through Interactive Brokers. They should be able to set up another subaccount for you we would think. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. A few years ago, I traded the same market using different strategies by using different instances of SC and the orders did not show on the second and even third and fouth Instances. I stopped that trading system about Feb 2015. Did anything mayor changed after that? I am 100% sure that I could previously do what I now want to do, by only using different client ID's and I also had to check something to override IB positions (not sure what). The problem with using a second IB account (or sub-account) is that I will have to use 2 computers. One cannot run 2 applications of IB on one computer. |

Certainly nothing changed on the Sierra Chart side in regards to this. We know that Interactive Brokers can assign a subaccount to the same TWS username. When they do this, you can easily select it on the Trade Window: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeWindow.html#SelectingTradeAccount In this case you can just use a single copy of Sierra Chart. We know the above works because we do have other users using multiple Interactive Brokers accounts through the same TWS username. It works fine.
