I'm using IB. I have selected EUR, but not getting P&L display in EUR. Just 245.63C, for example.

This is not supported with Interactive Brokers. And it will never be.

This is not documented.

So, this means that Global profit management is not supported for IB customers? Because, this is also not documented anywhere.

Refer to the documentation here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GlobalTradeSettings.html#CommonPLCurrency

It says it is only supported with Forex Data and Trading services. And actually it only works with Forex symbols.

Global Profit/Loss Management works with all trading services but obviously if symbols you are trading are quoted in different currencies, then it cannot be accurate. But this is something that obviously you would be aware of based upon how the feature works and is documented.

It seems this is geared towards Americans and the subset that only trades US futures, not forex.

Anyway, I could change all the "currency per tick" settings in Symbol settings for my markets and update it every few weeks, so I can have all figures in Euros. I just don't understand why you cannot make this happen automatically, separately from IB or any other broker.

You have the database of all possible symbols and their respective currency; and the currency selected by the user.

We realized how we can implement this for Interactive Brokers without much difficulty. This will be out in the next release.

Tell us what symbols you want to have converted to a common currency and we will set those up initially.

These have been set up. Look for version 1462 for support for this.

Using version 1469 and IB. Set the Common Profit/Loss Currency to USD. All my PNL in yen from trading JPY crosses (USDJPY, AUDJPY, etc) and Nikkei500 (SGXNK) is still showing in JPY (thus rendering my total statistics worthless). I am connected to the data feed and (as fas as I know) my account has access to Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Forex/CFD Data Service. Can you help me troubleshoot this? Happy to open a separate thread if needed. Thanks.

We need to know the full symbols you are using so we can set up the currency codes on those. Please provide the complete symbols.

You could maybe do this programatically for all IB FX symbols, but the currency pairs that I trade that need PNL currency conversion (to USD in my case) are:

AUD.NZD-CASH-IDEALPRO
AUD.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO
CHF.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.AUD-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.CHF-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.GBP-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.NOK-CASH-IDEALPRO
EUR.PLN-CASH-IDEALPRO
GBP.AUD-CASH-IDEALPRO
GBP.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO
NOK.SEK-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.CAD-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.CHF-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.CNH-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.MXN-CASH-IDEALPRO
USD.RUB-CASH-IDEALPRO

As well as the following futures contracts with PNL in either yen or euro:

SGXNK-201612-SGX, SGXNK-201703-SGX, SGXNK-201706-SGX, SGXNK-201709-SGX, etc
ESTX50-201612-DTB, ESTX50-201703-DTB, ESTX50-201706-DTB, ESTX50-201709-DTB, etc
GBX-201612-DTB, GBX-201703-DTB, GBX-201706-DTB, GBX-201709-DTB, etc

Thank you.

Yes, it says EUR but is still in yen for me too. Also, please set up the symbols I asked for in #7

We have added a currency parameter for all the symbols given in post #13 as well as all of the IDEALPRO symbols for Interactive Brokers.

When we went to test the conversion to a common currency it immediately worked properly using EUR.JPY-CASH-IDEALPRO.

We are going to review the documentation and make sure it is up-to-date and also add some additional logging so we can get a better understanding of the problem.

However, the first thing to check is to locate the symbol in Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Go to the Additional tab and is a Currency set for it?

Yes, I had already set that field to EUR for all symbols I was interested in, still it wouldn't convert. For example, one tick in CL would translate to 10EUR, when of course it is 10 USD and SC just put EUR next to it. Same for EURJPY.

Not sure if what you are saying is that you have made changes to a newer version than 1469.

OK so you are actually seeing the common currency displayed after the profit/loss amount like EURC?

OK we just realized what your mistake is.

You need to specify the currency that the symbol trades in. For CL crude oil this will be USD. That is where you are going wrong.

I see what you're saying, makes sense, I just thought that SC was already aware of the currency that each symbol trades in, so I just input the conversion I wanted (which of course would be redundant info, which seemed weird to me).

Will test on Monday and report, thanks.

No, there is no way we can reliably know the currency of the symbol unless it is specified.

Once you specify the correct currency it will work properly.
