Hi, I am new to Sierra Chart, but I am very excited about the possibilities. I just read up about the DTC protocol. I am an American living overseas. I’m wondering if I'm trading CME futures, can I set up a VPS in Chicago that would run Sierra Charts as a DTC server to hold and route orders, and run Sierra Charts here as a client that I would use as a GUI? It seems to me this would be something that someone might have come up with or are in the process of developing, so I thought I’d ask. Separately, is it possible to have a “Master Safety Stop” where if you were long and the market went down to the master safety stop, it would close all open positions and cancel pending orders, regardless of the number of contracts you were long? When I’m trading I often add and take profits while in a trade to improve the theoretical entry price. Making sure my safety stop has the right number of contracts can be distracting and a source of worry. Knowing that there was a line in the sand, immune to any math errors in the heat of a trade or connectivity issues on the internet’s part would be a very good thing. If the answer is no that is not available, is there a way to build something like this in Sierra Charts? I am familiar with software development. Although trying to get more familiar with trading!! ;) Thanks very much, -Bob |

Yes you can definitely do this: can I set up a VPS in Chicago that would run Sierra Charts as a DTC server to hold and route orders, and run Sierra Charts here as a client that I would use as a GUI?
This is a proven configuration which we use ourselves extensively. Separately, is it possible to have a “Master Safety Stop” where if you were long and the market went down to the master safety stop, it would close all open positions and cancel pending orders, regardless of the number of contracts you were long? This is not exactly supported but you can certainly develop this yourself using ACSIL:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html However, thinking about this some more, there is this feature that could be a substitute: Global Profit/Loss Management Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
