Strange Chart/Order behaviour & Messages

I placed a small 1C ES Order and received these messages;

The charts then reset for a period of about 8 minutes - the whole log was sent as an analysis

The OEC server is not functioning properly. Consider using another trading service. Generally we recommend CQG and CTS.

2. What do you mean by this:

The charts then reset for a period of about 8 minutes


3. The Message Log is full of an enormous amount of messages related to errors with Continuous Futures Contract charts because you have the Days to Load setting in charts set extremely high. Do not load more than 10 years maximum. You are creating excessive messages and potential charting problems with such a high setting.

1. Our response on this was not complete. We were just suggesting the possibility of using other services due to the problem. However, we do need to tell OEC about this. We need to get the FIX log. Follow the instructions here:

I only have extended days on my monthly & weekly charts - these are historical and nothing to do with OEC - These are from SC.

The max days to load on an intraday chart is 500 days!

The FIX log is another thing - Are you saying that you do not support or believe OEC is inferior to both CQG & CTS??

Do not use a setting higher than 10-15 years!! Otherwise you are causing an excessive amount of error messages for historical data that is just not available.

Can you please expand on 'the OEC Server is not functioning properly' - I am currently just trading 1-2 lots and will be expanding in the future - I need to ensure that OEC is rock solid or you need to advise otherwise.

We have heard from OEC and they are going to take care of the problem.

The problem is that when orders are sent during an order status request, the OEC server is setting the Execution Type indicating that a trade has just occurred when that is not the case.


It is not a good issue that this is happening, however Sierra Chart is gracefully handling it without any consequence.
