After updating to version 1442 and restarting Sierra Chart, there is a problem where existing Symbol Settings will not load. Symbol Settings are critical for the proper operation of various functions in Sierra Chart. It is necessary to follow these steps to resolve this problem: - Update to "Prerelease" version 1443 following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate - After the new version is installed, make sure the symbol settings are up-to-date by following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettings ---- If you have set custom symbol settings, this is more difficult to resolve. Your custom settings exist in the GlobalSymbolSettings.XML file. You will need to edit this file directly. You will have to exit from Sierra Chart before editing this file. You will have to find your custom settings in the file by searching for the symbols. The problem is with the service-code field where it was being set to "true". It needs to be corrected with the proper service code. If you are not sure what that is, ask Sierra Chart Support. You then need to find the default Symbol Settings for the symbol with the correct service code and delete those after you have edited the service-code field for your custom symbol settings. After the changes, save the GlobalSymbolSettings.XML file and start Sierra Chart. Version 1443 has been removed. Users will need to go back to 1441. The underlying issue which was the cause, also caused another problem with the saving of open orders when Sierra Chart is not running. This is not good but it is not a serious issue because there is generally not a critical dependency on open orders being saved. Why did these issues happen? We are updating the code with a new text string component we have developed to give Sierra Chart higher performance and more independence from the Microsoft libraries that Sierra Chart works with. Due to implementation differences, this has caused some not so obvious issues. This is going to require more testing and code examination before we can do a release.
