Have searched documentation/support board. Please advise how to set up optimal configuration of new instances feature to best utilize i7 quad core w/HT - 8 logical cores for minimum chart update intervals, for use either on Rithmic or TT. 6 chartbooks, 1 instrument and 4 charts on each, overlaid each other on 3 monitors. 1 chartbook/instrument visible at a time on each monitor. 2 chartbooks, with all 6 instruments and 1 chart of each on 4th monitor, historical/slow intraday timeframes, slow update interval, 1 chartbook/visible at a time on 4th monitor. You are best able to make this judgment. We do not know.

Thank you. Other questions then: 1. How can positions and trades taken in a sub instance, be shown in the main instance on the chart or trade activity log? 2. Can the sub instances be set to automatically close when the main instance is closed? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-04-19 07:54:02

1. They will be included in the Trade Activity Log. Nothing special to do. To see them in the chart of the main instance, simply open a chart for the same symbol, set it to the same Trade Account and activate Chart Trade Mode. Refer to the "Chart Trading" documentation. In general there is nothing special to do. 2. No. This is not supported. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. The positions, orders, and trades are not syncing to my main instance. Is this and can this be supported in simulation mode?

Is the sub instance in Trade Simulation Mode? If yes, then that trading data will not transfer over to the main instance. You need to put the main instance in Trade Simulation Mode and disable Trade Simulation Mode in the sub instances. You can then use one of the simulation accounts to trade in simulation mode in the sub instance. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank you this worked. Would this mean the Global P/L Management feature will function in the subs since they are in live mode? 1. Will alerts also transfer over from subs to main? 2. Could there be any way to easily sync a single set of settings/alerts/studies for all sub instances vs changing each setting manually in each instance? As you can imagine with as many settings SC has and now instances, every time a setting needs to be changed, quite tedious/repetitious to adjust it in every instance. Yes. 1. No. 2. Not currently but you could copy the Sierra3.cfg file from the main instance to the sub instance when it is not running. Is it possible to get the Runup/Drawdown stats also to transfer over from the subs to main instance? They are working in my subs but not main Trade Activity Log.

If you open a chart for the symbol being traded, in the main instance of Sierra Chart, then the underlying data for these calculations should be maintained. Although we would have to test this to be sure. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
