Hello

I figured out how to make the custom study using color bar based on alert condition and a simple alert.

I am having trouble with the scaling though, it stays in the same spot no matter if I change the range of the chart. Is it possible to have the indicator stay in the same spot even if I change the range (while trading) still using automatic scaling on the main price graph?

An example is attached of what it is doing when I change the range using the value scale.

I have also tried all kinds of scaling and none will work right.

Thanks for reading

You just need to make certain that the Scale of the main price graph, set through Chart Settings, and the studies all use Automatic for the Scale Range.

i cant do that or the indicator i built wont plot in the right place.. it goes off the screen, i had to use "user defined" to make it plot correctly

so I guess ill just have to deal with how it is

thanks though

OK, it's difficult for us to give specific answer as to what's the best way to solve this without understanding what draw styles are being used, how the study is configured and what the values are.

well

Draw styles : point - size 5
Configuration : 2 horizontal line studies (one for top, one for bottom of chart) both hidden, scale range = user defined, scaling for top study: top of range - 0.000 bottom of range - -1.000, scaling for bottom study: top of range - 1.000 bottom of range - 0.000; color bar based on alert condition (one for each) also user defined, top study: top of range - 1.0 bottom of range - 0.0, bottom study: top of range - 5.0 bottom of range - 1.0
Values: both horizontal lines; line 1 is set to 0 -- both color bar based on alert condition just have simple alerts, and draw style percentage offset -- 0.000001
