Yes, but the CPU load from the Data Feed from the main instance is so low that it is not measurable from the CPU usage in Task Manager. On our servers, we use Sierra Chart tracking thousands of symbols, and the CPU usage normally does not exceed 1%. And usually remains at 0%. Data feed processing is next to nothing. also if i scale in and out of chart make it bigger or smaller i see load move up and down in both instances !!! To be clear, this is going to be strictly the behavior of the operating system and nothing that Sierra Chart would have any control over or is causing: also if i scale in and out of chart make it bigger or smaller i see load move up and down in both instances !!! This sounds quite strange to us, but we have no clue as to why that is happening. We cannot help with it. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. not sure what you mean so low its not measured , i just posted a pic and they where both at 13 % and i only had charts on 1 instance , and load carried over to ORG instance . we also did on a few other comps and same results , so dosent seem to be just my main comp , i hate to be a pain but seems something is going on and would love some support to resolve this , instead of telling me that you cant help me . is there any tests i can run on my comp ? |

There is nothing we can do to help with this. You are misunderstanding this. That CPU usage is absolutely not from the data feed. It could not be. We would not even know how to help with something like this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Just now we tested running a second instance of Sierra Chart started with File >> New Instance. We performed a chart scroll operation with the Volume by Price study on the chart and the chart bar spacing set to 0. We moved to the chart fast back and forth which took the CPU usage up to 13%. The main instance of Sierra Chart remained at 0% as we would expect. It was not visible but does have charts open. We would find it incredible, that if anyone runs a similar test, they would notice the CPU usage of one instance of Sierra Chart transfer to another instance. That just simply does not make any sense. And as we said, if that is what is actually happening we have no idea how to even help with something like that. Although if you want us to look at it with remote assistance, we will do that. Maybe there is something we are misunderstanding or maybe we would get some kind of clue which would help us explain it.
