How do I create a volume ratio (market breadth) for certain stocks. I know the market stats has the up/down vol ratio, but its for the entire index. How do I make it for just certain stocks? thanks

I've been trying to code a new study for this but I'm not sure which volume data to use (Uptick/downtick volume, volume-up/down, or ask/bid volume). I read the technical study for each and I'm still unsure. I'm also trying to figure out why a moving average is being used in the ratio calculation? Do you have any ideas as to calculating certain stock volume ratio? I've been trying to figure this out all day Any advice you can give would be great |

For this you will need to have a separate chart open for each stock you want to use in the calculation. You will then want to overlay all of the stocks onto a single chart: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s100 You can then reference those overlay studies as explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILProgrammingConcepts.html#UsingStudyData Generally we would recommend using Bid Volume and Ask Volume. No idea about the moving average. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
