Hi, I'm using the Sierra data feed but also tried switching to another datafeed. I read this page but doesn't seem to be related -
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails3.html

I also tried reinstalling Sierra but it is still doing the same thing.

I see this error in the log -

HD Request # 2 | Timestamp of first Intraday data file record written: 2015-07-17 15:36:00 | 2016-01-19 15:35:06

Any idea what is going on? Thanks.

Follow the instructions here to disable Error Filtering:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ErrorFilter.html#DisablingErrorFiltering

Once that is done re-download the data in the AEZS chart by going to that chart and selecting Edit >> Delete All Data and Download.

Is there any other issue with the data feed?

Thanks. Seems to be working now. So is it ok to have error filtering completely disabled going forward to avoid this issue or is this just a step to troubleshoot?

I'm not aware of other issues with the data feed but I do have another question. When I ran into that problem earlier, I started another copy of Sierra that I have configured with just the DOM. That was working with IB as my data feed but I noticed it was trying to connect to the Sierra data feed and it was getting an error because I can only have 1 connection at a time. So how do I turn off the Sierra data feed with my other copy? Under Data/Trade Service Settings, I have Interactive Brokers [trading] selected as the service. Thanks.

There should be no need to be using error filtering.

In the other instance you need to uncheck Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds. This is documented here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#Connections

Awesome. Thanks. Unchecking that option didn't fix it immediately but closing and opening Sierra after resolved the issue. Thanks.

You did have to reconnect to the data feed for that option to go into effect. The documentation linked to does explain this.

Hey guys, sorry but now I have a problem placing my orders directly from Sierra with IB. It did that yesterday too. As soon as I try to place an order, my DOM switch back to trade simulation. If I uncheck it and try again, it will switch back to simulation again. I don't see any errors in the log but it may have something to do with disabling error filtering? I checked and looks like my data feed with IB is configured properly. I can connect but as soon as I try to place an order, it will switch back to simulation. any idea what I need to do? Thanks.

I didn't do anything different but now looks like it is working again on its own. Anyone else having the same issue or is it just me? I was trying to trade ZFGN and I wasn't able to place my orders with IB using Sierra but it's working again.

This is not technically possible as long as Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service is set to Interactive Brokers.

Unless you are running a chart replay. But in that case you could not switch out of Trade Simulation Mode to begin with.

What is the symbol you are trading, and what is the order price entered?

Provide the lines in the Trade Activity Log for this order by following the instructions here:

Ok, maybe that's what I did wrong. I reinstalled Sierra yesterday because my chart wasn't updating and I believe i configured Interactive Brokers under data/trade service but switched back to SC data - All Services and hit OK. The symbol that gave me the minimum price variation error was OPTT but it's working now when I switched back to Interactive Brokers under Data/Trade Service Settings. Looks like it was a config error on my end. Thanks.
