Hi, I'm looking at an additional platform (Bookmap X-Ray Pro/Velox Pro) and options for connection. It's possible that I may need DTN IQFeed. I am very happy with SC's Real-Time offering and believe in terms of data it is in comparable to IQFeed. Where I am unsure is the integration with my broking execution feed (either CQG, TT or CTS). I am aware that I will need to have a second instance of SC running.

What are the limitations of using IQFeed vs. the Integrated SC Real-Time offering in terms of usability/trade performance?

Everything you need to know about the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed can be found on this page:

It can be integrated with trading services like CQG, TT or CTS.

Please answer the question. What are the key advantages of an integrated SC Feed vs. using IQFeed on a second instance of SC.

In your case we strongly recommend against IQ Feed. The Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed is much better integrated with Sierra Chart and is going to be easier to use and easier for us to support and we do not want to be burdened with numerous questions about IQ Feed when problems are encountered or when you want to do more advanced things with it like sharing data.

So be advised if you decide to use IQ Feed, we will place a limit on the amount of support provided when using it.

You can receive the market data from the SC Exchange Data feed in the same instance of Sierra Chart you are trading from using that market data.

I understand SC Data is derived from Barchart. If so can it work with the standard Ninja Trader API for Barchart?

We have contacted Bookmap/Velox about supporting the DTC Protocol which would allow them to use the market data from Sierra Chart and has other advantages. We do not know whether they will be doing this or not. It is hugely to their advantage to do this and because it is supportive of an industrywide common communications protocol. Here is information about the protocol:
http://dtcprotocol.org/

Only some of the data from the Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed is from the Barchart Data Service. The Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed will not work with ninja trader. Please do not rely on that or try to make it work because it will not.

It would be nice if Bookmap supported market data from SC. Is there any update on this?

Let them know you want them to support the open specification DTC Protocol:
http://dtcprotocol.org/

Really it makes utterly no sense for them to just disregard it and waste time with all of these garbage, and we mean garbage, APIs and substandard feeds out there. We are working very hard to establish a common well-designed communication protocol for this industry and we would hope that they would join us.

We did our best convincing them but as of yet have heard nothing back.
