Hi,

SierraChart (version 959) seems to work like a charm on ubuntu linux (up-to-date 12.10/64bit) using WINEARCH=win32.

That is, except for the spreadsheet studies which I simply cannot get to work. If I follow the instructions then point 10 says "The Spreadsheet will be opened in the background. Go to it by selecting Window >> [Spreadsheet Name] on the menu". First of all the spreadsheet does not open in the background. Second, the window menu doesn't contain *any* window but the windows are in the CB/CW menus. However, the new spreadsheet isn't there either. Also, there is no file created in the data dir -- I don't know if there should be.

If I create a new spreadsheet in the data dir I can open it, and it seems to be linked to the study if I select it when creating the spreadsheet study, but this spreadsheet is empty (except for an "Add symbols to this quote..." text).

The actual spreadsheet seems to work, though. If I enter '2' into A1 and '3' into B1 and '=A1+B1' into C1 then C1 becomes '5'. Maybe a spreadsheet study would work if I knew what to put into this blank spreadsheet? (The example spreadsheet, 'QuotesSpreadsheet.scwbf', doesn't work -- it opens the log window saying it's invalid and creates a new, blank spreadsheet instead.)

So, is there something I'm missing, or does the spreadsheet studies just not work?

Best regards,
Marcus

It sounds like you are running the non-CLR version, and in that version, Spreadsheets do not function properly and are not supported. We do not expect Spreadsheets in that version to be ready for at least another 4 months from now.

Ah, yes. The spreadsheet studies do seem to work on the CLR version, even on linux. Thanks!
