Interactive Brokers forex historical data does not display many candles

Edit* Simply question, SC/IB does not display beyond the past 1 year when viewing larger than the weekly time frame, even though the historical chart 'number of days to load' is at default 4380 days.

So how can we view a longer period of time, as much as possible?

Hi, I am trying to view the historical chart (larger than 1 day right?) for EUR.USD with IB. I tried your suggestions but didn't have success, here is the message log if it helps.

I found a little more information from IB : https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/api/apiguide/tables/historical_data_limitations.htm

It seems TWS forex charts offer historical data of 10 years (can see back to 2005 on the monthly chart). How can that be transferred over to SC?

There are some limitations on how much data you can view from IB, based on 'market data lines' (what are these?) and/or monthly commission requirements. Perhaps that could be reasons why I can only view back the last year of data? But again TWS charts display back 10 years...

In all of our experience it is only possible to receive 1 year of historical daily data from IB TWS API.

To receive at least 10 years of data for EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO you will need to change your Sierra Chart Service Package to 3. In this way the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service will be used which will provide at least 10 years of data for the Forex markets.

To change your Sierra Chart service package, select "Help >> Account Control Panel" on the Sierra Chart program menu. On the displayed webpage, click on "Change Service Package".

The remaining service usage time on your account will be adjusted based upon the cost of the package you are changing to. If the new package is a higher-priced package, then the usage time will be reduced due to the higher price.

There is no charge for changing your Sierra Chart service package. Only your Sierra Chart account usage time ending date is adjusted.

After changing the Service Package restart Sierra Chart and go to the historical daily chart for that symbol and select Edit >>Delete All Data and Download.
