Looks like this doctor's head is in the wrong place and needs to go back to school. Like i said before, I have achieved the outcomes I was after for posting this thread and all you are doing is creating noise here.

Adaptation is only one part mate.. that attitude will always keep you playing small like a 2 lot trader.. seeking continuous improvement and learning by questioning the accepted norm is another. Clearly you think you know it all and that's blinding you. As i further noted, you are adding no value here by suggesting things we all know already.. think of it! and im done wasting time on this thread so after this post, i am unsubscribing from this one ie. don't expect me to be revisiting here.

Maybe book an appointment with the ego doctor. kapish!

and to SC Support .. apologies if my intentions were misconstrued.. possibly by the title i chose.. sounds bit harsh.. (just renamed it) but as i said before.. i love SC and its capabilities. continue with the great work! :)

We would like to know if version 1308 reduces loading times for you.

Most likely it will only make a small difference or nothing noticeable. It will not make a dramatic difference because there has not been any major change which would cause that.

There is another small thing we can do also that can slightly reduce the loading times.

What exactly was changed in 1308 so I can be on the lookout for any adverse loading time behavior? I've reopened a bunch of chartbooks after upgrading to 1308 and it feels slower than before, like it's trying to do more things in parallel and just churning.

Just changes with function inlining.

It makes it worse in some cases, we will remove it.

Update: I think my issues had nothing to do with 1308 honestly. I had to reboot my VM (involuntarily) this afternoon and after reloading all my chartbooks Sierra would max out CPU on certain charts - having to do with the underlying data files becoming corrupted (most likely data not fully written out). I've fixed that separately and will try 1308 again.

I can't see inlining causing any problems myself.

User364647252,

We said that we were going to work on improving the performance of loading Intraday data and we did make some changes earlier, but we did not complete that work back then and the end result of that at the time was the Intraday data loading time might have been made worse.

In version 1346, this is improved and the Intraday data loading time is reduced by about 17%. It might even be better on your own system.

The biggest difference would come from when a chart that does not have any studies that rely on the Volume at Price data, the chart bars are multiples of 1 minute data, and if the tick by tick data is pre-compressed into 1 minute time frames. This has been contemplated to be developed, but because the loading of Intraday tick data is so fast, and it complicates things by maintaining separate files, it has never been implemented. But it might be at some point in the future. With what you described here though, it will not make any difference in your case.
