Currently the SYMBOL_DESCRIPTION_LENGTH is 48 characters. We think it should be increased to 64 since a Symbol can be 64 characters. So by increasing it to 64, it is more logical since a description is usually longer than a symbol. It also makes it consistent.

This affects the Description field of the Security Definition Response message. The impact should be minimal and only affects Binary Encoding with Fixed Length Strings.

Whatever change you do please make sure that published header files are always consistent with the latest version of SC :)

At this time the the latest revision of 1286 of the Sierra Chart test client supports this new length.

Then could you update the github repository then?

I guess this means the DTCPRotocol.h used by SC is not the published version on github.

It would be nice to keep the github repository always up to date with the prerelease SC version.

We will be updating Github no later than the end of the day tomorrow.

For now you can get the latest header files using the links in the list of links at the top of this page:
