I use a US$ credit card to pay for my subscription. I note that I now incur a fee of 3% on top of the US$ amount. Visa advise that this is a "cross border fee" as Sierra Chart is not based in the USA but in Asia. Is there a mechanism to avoid this fee... ?? Please advise. Thank you Roger Grace |

It is the payment processor 2 Checkout, based in Ohio , which uses an Asian account. Sierra Chart is not in Asia. When you have paid for Sierra Chart previously, did you not notice a 3% fee? It is hard to avoid the cross-border fee, because we do not have a US-based account. We have looked at ways around this, but so far we have found no solution. One processor we use Gate 2 Shop has long promised establishing a US account but as of yet has not yet done that. And we avoid them for USD payments because we have seen too many card issuer refusals when using them. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Roger Grace - You probably would have to find a credit card - which doesn't have "foreign transaction" fee associated. You can google with the key word "credit cards without foreign transaction fee" |

Visa and MasterCard do charge a cross-border 1% fee. A card that does not have a fee, is absorbing it. But if they charge 3%, then they are just taking 2% unfairly. I previously used a Canadian Card; but that that incurred a foreign exchange fee that I hoped to avoid with my US$ card.It is not quite 3% but 2.77%. How do I tell who processed it ? It shows up on my Visa statement as Sierra Chart. Why is you account in Asia when you are a US company..?? |

We are not incorporated as a US company. The registered office is in New Zealand. For the location you may see "Wellington". Formally this region is known as Asia-Pacific. But the particular location can also depend upon the particular payment processor.
