Hi,

I'm having issues sometimes after duplicating some charts and trying to move their tabs to a different position (if I duplicate a chart for example its being first located at the most right side of the charts tabs, I want to move it to a different desired location) - what I noticed is that u have some kind of a bug that sometimes if I move the tab to a different position the tab that is being located at the most left - its name is being changed to the name of the tab that I was trying to move.

every time it happened I exited the software without saving it on purpose - I was afraid that it might affect it
then after re entering the software it was ok

This time I did save the chartbook, after re entering the software all of my graphs on that chartbook were gone!!

How do I recover the graphs?? I've spend huge amount of hours planning them, Please advise how to solve it

Thanks.

We have not heard of this kind of problem before and we did a test now and did not see it.

We will need to get your Chartbook and test it. It has a CHT file extension. The Chartbooks can be viewed by opening File >> Open Chartbook and are located in that folder. Send the chart book to support AT Sierra Chart.com.

Before doing this, please update Sierra Chart by selecting Help >> Download Current Version. There is a whole new interface to TransAct. There might be some problem relating to the old TransAct API causing a problem.

Thank you for the quick response

Fortunately I was able to recover a less updated file of the same chartbook , I was using the software Recuva to recover the file - I deeply recommend using it to try recover the corrupt/edited files

What I noticed about the symptoms of this bug is that if u duplicate a chart and then change its bar period to a different one such as reversal/rekno etc. and then try to move its tab to the left side (not necessarily the most left one) it wont move it and wont activate the red mark of the tab location and also might change the first (most left) tab to this current tab - and when this happens it corrupts its chartbook.

Do you have a auto backup option to save the chartbook automatically in another backup chartbook file for example for every few selected hours or days? if not this might be very useful.

Thank you for the help I've also updated the TA version.. If it happens again ill try to add a print screen of it

This is very unusual. It would seem very unlikely to be a problem within Sierra Chart. We do not see how this could be duplicated. It must have some other cause. Are you using any Custom chart studies?

There are backup Chartbooks available:

You can set up an automatic save time for Chartbooks in Global Settings >> General Settings.
