[User Discussion] - Problem with Price display / realtime multiplier(?)

Recently entered position ZSX13 at 12.4075

Chart displays 12.4075
Trading DOM displays 12.4075
Working order displayed on chart shows 12.4075
Trade Orders and Positions window displays 1240.75

Verified through broker that exchange is holding order at 1240.75 which is incorrect.

Can't get these all to display identical. I've tried Realtime multiplier, Historical multiplier, and Display format in various combinations on both the Chart and Trading DOM chart.

How do I fix this?

What Trading service are you using?

Also, go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Press the Update From Server button. When that button becomes re-enabled, then press OK.

If you follow this, you should be OK with the price on the Trade >>Trade Orders and Positions>> Positions tab:

Also, go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Press the Update From Server button. When that button becomes re-enabled, then press OK.

The exchange does use a different position for the decimal place so what the broker shows would be only 2 places to the right of the decimal point.

Now 13.00 shows in Orders and Positions as 13.00 but does not show on my chart. An order placed as 1300.00 shows in Orders and Positions as 1300.00 but shows on my chart as 13.00.

Real-time and Historical Multipliers are set at .01 for chart and displays current price as 12.88 (correctly).
If same settings used on Trading DOM chart the display is .1288
If changed to 1 Trading DOM then displays properly as 12.88 (but doesn't match setting for chart).

Price display and tick size are set the same for both.

Shouldn't the settings on both the Chart and Trading DOM chart be the same?

You should not be having this kind of difficulty as long as you use the standard settings. Go to each chart and Trade DOM and select Chart >> Chart Settings. Press the Apply Global Symbol Settings button. The proper settings will be set. Press OK. Please do not change them.

And be sure to do this:
Go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Press the Update From Server button. When that button becomes re-enabled, then press OK.

After you do this, Save your Chartbook, exit from Sierra Chart and restart.

We cannot even imagine, as long as you do the above, you would have a problem. There really is no chance of this. It sounds as though you are trying to alter the decimal position and not getting the settings right. Without remote assistance session, it's impossible for us to help with this because what we are hearing is quite confusing and not making sense.

Also make sure you are on the current version of Sierra Chart.

Remote assistance is available for an extra charge.

it may be showing as 1240.75 from the exchange because the CME exchange prices them as 1240'0; 1240'2; 1240'4; 1240'6; 1240'8

here are the quotes with settlement from the CME website: http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/agricultural/grain-and-oilseed/soybean_quotes_settlements_futures.html

Found the problem. Yes, it was showing as 1240.75; however, the exchange was actually holding it as 1240.75 (i.e. twelve-hundred forty dollars) which is why I didn't get filled (aaaaggggghhhh!)

Appears problem was with old CBOT charts in my chartbook that didn't display properly so I changed the multiplier, inadvertently changing the "real-time" multiplier which jacked up the price format.
