Trading DOM not staying active window

When I enter a trade and then hit Flatten in the Trading DOM Trade Window nothing happens. Then if I click in the Trading DOM and then hit Flatten the position and orders all flatten as they always have.

It seems I have to click in the Trading DOM to keep the DOM the active window. This has never been the case before but it happened yesterday and today with live trades.

Fortunately the market didn't move against me either time this happened while I was trying to figure out how to get out of these trades.

Have I changed a setting or something?

Help please.

When you say "hit Flatten" are you using your pointing device and directly clicking on the button?

What you are describing must be some kind of system issue. We recommend restarting the computer.

I don't know if it's related or not, but I have noticed that when I enter an order, say a buy limit, that the focus on the DOM window is lost, so that I cannot use the mouse scroll wheel. If I click anywhere in the dom window, I can then use the scroll wheel as normal.

How are you entering the limit order?

We do not think this is related.

Just by clicking in the bid size / buy column.

I've been using the trading DOM for a long time and something definitely seems different, I'm not sure if it's my end or not.

In response to post #2 above, I was using my mouse to hit "Flatten" in the Trading DOM/Chart Trading Window. I have restarted my computer many times. Now the "Flatten" button works without having to click in the DOM first. So that's good!

But now, if I open a trade with a limit order by clicking in the Buy column in the Trading DOM OR by using my keyboard shortcut for a Market order (have been using keyboard shortcuts for Buy Market, Sell Market and Flatten for a long time) I have to click in the DOM before the keyboard shortcuts work. If I click in the DOM before using the keyboard shortcuts the keyboard shortcuts work fine.

with a live trade a few minutes ago, when I hit Flatten in the Trading DOM/Trade Window for Chart with my mouse, the attached orders were flattened but the position stayed open. Then I clicked in the DOM and used keyboard shortcut for Flatten to get out of the trade.

This relates to keyboard and pointer input focus changes to prevent accidental order entry. We will look into this.

This is not a Sierra Chart issue. Please immediately contact your broker about this and do not assume that the position you see in Sierra Chart is correct. Once again immediately contact your broker about this!

We cannot answer why this occurs unless it is problem within Sierra Chart, which would not be the case. The position that you have may be different than what you see.
