Hi, I've set up a Spreadsheet System for Trading for the first time to do some testing in Sim mode. I can see the False/True Buy/Sell on the spreadsheet (columns K and M), but I'm not seeing the trades on the chart (or arrows/log entries). I have checked Auto Trading Enabled/Recalculated the chart etc, but nothing showing. Can you please point me towards what I might be doing wrong? Thanks. |

-Are the formulas on the Sheet#/tab position associated with the Chart#? -Are the Draw Styles set to Arrow Up/Arrow Down? |

Hi, thanks. Yes, the sheet and chart #s are the same. Yes, draw styles are arrow up/down. The formula is using an oscillator which is referencing a study/price overlay from another chart, but I assume this is okay (the oscillator is showing fine in region 2) Cheers |

You have TRUEs and FALSEs in K3 and M3 but no arrows on the chart?

I've made some adjustments and now the system is making buy entries, and also shows sell exits in the alert log, but although I'm seeing TRUE in the M and L columns its not making sell entries (and I'm seeing neither sell entries nor buy exits in the log). Any ideas? Thanks |

Are you using the New Spreadsheets (.scss) ? I have seen some issues with the New Spreadsheets where 'false' in a formula gives spurious results, but 'FALSE' does not. Since 'y' in a cell that's referenced is case-sensitive in the New Spreadsheets, there may be an esoteric problem with certain formula constructions. Unfortunately, I haven't yet confirmed anything repeatable. If there is a TRUE in columns K and M, there should be a corresponding arrow. You might try using another instance with the Old Spreadsheets version, to see if you get different results. Or you could send me your chartbook and spreadsheet file, and I'll take a look. tom@sawtoothtrade.com Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-02-12 01:09:27

It does not make much sense why you will not see the standard arrows on the chart. So to confirm there are no arrows at all on the chart? You may not see the order fill markers on the chart but that is something else to be concerned with. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. SC Engineering: update for you. I have changed over to the old spreadsheet system (version 1224). Showing .scwbf spreadsheets. Basically everything is the same as previously. The auto-trading system will take long trades, but not short. Also the arrows are not showing. Interestingly if I change the draw style to Bar Top for example then I can see the entries (where the arrows should be). But only for buy entries, not short. So there seems to be two separate things wrong. Is this likely to be an issue with my PC setup? Thanks. |

I have the same issues with Version 1229. Version 1228 and old version had no problem. It can draw trade Arrow(BUY and SELL) no problem. But once I updated to version 1229(new spreadsheet), all trade Arrow were gone. I have to reverted back to Version 1224. I didn't test Version 1330 or 1331 yet Please fix it ASAP |

We see no problem with the arrows drawn on the charts from Spreadsheets. It all works properly in the latest version. There may have been a problem with 1229 but that version is not the prerelease any longer. In response to post #12, we will need a Chartbook containing one chart and the spreadsheet you are using so we can look into the problem.
