When inputting an order on the chart, it shows all related lines on the chart, but after a few seconds those lines disappear. However, orders are being sent to my broker (IB), which is good. Those lines reappear again when order is filled. I prefer to see those lines without disappearing, but I am not sure how to set. I have looked into General Trade Settings and Chart Trade Settings. Please advice, thank you for your support. |

Not totally sure what we can do. IB has a substandard and very problematic programming interface through the Trader Workstation for trading and that is the root cause of all these endless problems. The question for IB, is why is it when the open orders are requested, they do not report the working order as working any longer? This is not a Sierra Chart problem. It is not by design an order is going to disappear when it is working. That makes no sense. When order is submitted, Sierra Chart will make a request for the open orders from IB to make sure it gets an update on the orders. This was a patch recently put in because sometimes IB would not provide an update. The problem is IB is not providing that update in this case and that is the problem. That is okay. I am aware IB systems do not smoothly communicate with SC systems. I will look into that with IB's end. Thanks for your time and regards.

The way to handle this with Interactive Brokers is as follows: 1. Send an email to API@interactivebrokers.com 2. For the order that disappears, locate the order in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Orders. Get the Service Order ID for it. 3. Ask IB that when a reqOpenOrders is made through the API, why is there not a response for the order ID (use the ID you got from the service order ID in Sierra Chart).
