Hi,

The Chart Trade window has a drop down box for choosing the trade Quantity.

I've uploaded an image of my window.

http://sli.mg/1nDExx

The entries put the top figure at the top, next to the mouse cursor location. I accidentally selected 22. I was completely unaware of my mistake. I think this behaviour is dangerous. My sim account just went short €5.25m worth of DAX futures. I never want to select a figure as high as 22. ((I'm going to start using the 4th tab - labelled "C" in order to avoid ever making this mistake again.))

I don't think that value field should be a drop-down selector at all. Or the values should be limited. Or something.

It would be good if the trade window showed an approximate currency value of the trade - or for each entry in the drop down. Maybe it should warn and demand confirmation if it's above a certain figure. So in this case the total was €10,250 * 25 * 22 = €5.25m = (current contract price) * (contract lot size) * (trade size)

My accidental loss from this trade would have been 121 * €25 = €3025. Lucky this was just a sim trade.

I also have a feature request that you might consider.
I use a simple calculation when buying shares. I think a lot of share traders use the same method. For each trade, I decide my quantity based on a fixed expected loss amount. I want my expected loss on a trade to be limited at a set figure. Maybe $250. So if the current share price is $100 and my stop loss is at $75, then that implies a purchase quantity of 10 shares.

Calculation:
$100 - $75 = $25. (current share price) - (stop loss price)
$250/$25 = 10 shares. =

It would be nice if this calculation was integrated. Maybe this could be another tab on that trade window. It would be nice if it suggested a trade quantity based on my parameters ($loss, share price, stop price) So if I open up a chart on a stock and nominate a stop price (or stop %) then it would show what my expected purchase quantity and $ value would be. And as I vary my stop position, it varies the text that shows the trade size and $ value. I think people would find this useful. I generally choose my expected loss value based on the stock. But it can be $250, $500, $1000 etc. I use fixed predefined values.

Also, thanks for your help with my earlier issues, I now have super fast charts on one SC instance and super detailed charting on a secondary instance. SUPERB!

Kind Regards,

-Jason
