Hi. The following information, problem, and solution can be passed along to anyone else experiencing the same issues I was having, which have now been resolved... I believe I have fixed the problem of the chart windows, and other windows, closing and irretrievably disappearing when I click on "Reset Child Windows" under the "Chart" tab, and or, when I click on the "Open Trade Window For Chart" under the "Trade" tab... Based on your suggestion that this problem was a "system problem" on my side, and I not being able to figure it out, just for the heck of it, I decided to try and open Sierra Chart on my laptop computer, and surprisingly, when I did, I experienced no "disappearing windows" problems... hmmm... This still did not help me with my desktop computer, which was a two monitor setup, and running Windows 7 and Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 GPU... Therefore, since my desktop computer was over seven years old, I thought that maybe I was experiencing this problem due to the age of my PC, and it's inability to run Sierra Chart correctly, for some unknown internal system reason... so I purchased another computer... It is also running Windows 7, and the GPU is Nvidia Quadro NVS 295... As I was setting up my computer, I decided to run Sierra Chart, at first, on just one monitor, as Sierra Chart seemed to function flawlessly when I ran it on my laptop computer, and did so even with all the windows and charts crammed onto one screen that were previously running on two monitor screens on my old PC. When I did indeed run all my windows and charts on a single monitor of my new PC, Sierra Chart worked perfectly... i.e. no disappearing charts or windows... hmmm... When I finally did hook up my second monitor and opened up Sierra Chart, with my charts and windows spread out over two monitors, the "disappearing" problem returned... hmmm... I am not by any means a computer expert, but I thought that hopefully, it was perhaps something as simple as the way the Nvidia software was "set up" to run on the two monitors, and so I went into the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager, and into the setup wizard, then into the "Profiles", and instead of using the "default" choice that was highlighted, I chose the "finance" choice... When I saved and exited and restarted my computer... (drum roll)... the problem was solved!... Yay!!!... Because you folks are computer experts there at Sierra Chart, maybe you know "why" this fixed my problem, by what I did... and so far, it is still working flawlessly... The only other information that I can pass along to you as to why this problem began in the first place is that... as you can see in my account, I have been running Sierra Chart for many months now, with no problems until this "disappearing" problem occurred a few weeks ago, and, now that I am thinking back, that was also just about the same time that I did a "driver update" on the Nvidia website, and so maybe Nvidia's "update" is possibly the "change" to my system that caused the problem, which is now a problem no more... Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your timely responses to my problems... and now I can continue using Sierra Chart again, which is by far the best trading software I have ever used. Thanks.
