Hi John--thank you very much for your quick reply. Sorry that I was not clear. On a Tick chart, the standard Volume per bar study is the number of trades. It is not the number of contracts that traded for each Tick bar. For example, for Tick charts the Bar Period Type and Bar Period Value must be set. I have selected Number of Trades Per Bar and 1000, respectively. The Volume study will then plot 1000 for each bar since it is calculating the number of trades. The number of trades does not take into the account how many contracts were traded for each trade. It simply calculates the number of trades. For the Volume study, I want to see how many contracts traded within those 1000 trades. Does that help clarify my question?
