Safe Mode did not prevent it from happening. As I said before, the updating to the new version didn’t solve the problem and later when I tried again it was worse, I had to use the button on the computer to force a shut down. So today I thought I better do a completely new installation, so I made a backup of everything important and deleted the entire Sierra Chart folder and downloaded and installed the latest version and so far, that seems to have worked to solve the problem. I’ve been away for awhile but before leaving I had written about the fact that when I updated to the new version awhile back Sierra would no longer open the two other instances automatically, but the previous version did, so I had gone back to that previous version. Today having deleted everything before the new installation that problem was solved at least temporarily and the main program, and the two extra instances all open automatically. But then when I replaced the Sierra4.config file with the ones that belonged to the Main Program, Instance 2 and Instance 3, they again would not open automatically. I tried adding to the General Settings on Instances 2,3 to run on Startup. I don’t think I need to do that for the Instances’ confiq file but tried that and that didn’t work as well. So I went back to having that field blank on the Instances’ 2 and 3 General Settings. I will have to open each instance manually, which is okay for now as I need my previous Sierra4.config file because I have made so many changes to the colors and toolbars that I don’t want to start with a new config file just to have the instances open at startup. As I opened the Sierra support board from the help menu, to post this message, it all started again, everything began to slow down, the mouse moved differently, could not select various things, could not type in MS Word where I compose these messages before posting them here, so I quickly shut down Sierra, and then everything works fine. I opened Chrome not going through the link from Sierra and it opened as usual, did not cause a problem. I’m posting this now while Sierra is closed and will write again later with updates.
