There are too many variables to be able to answer with a quick "yes" or "no". In general, what you state is correct. If you have an already open chart using intraday data (i.e. less than a 1 day bar period) and you change the Chart Settings to have the Bar Period be 1-0-0 (1 day) then the chart will create a 1 day chart from the intraday data. But if you select a 1 day period from the Control Bar, then that will set it to use the Historical data. In the end, the best thing to do is to look at the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Chart Data Type". This defines whether the chart is using the Intraday data or the Historical data. There is also an option to force the Intraday data only to be used for 1 day and higher periods by setting this to "Intraday Chart Only". When set to "Intrady Chart Only" then no matter what method you use to change the bar period, it will always build the bars from the intraday data. Refer to the following for this: Chart Settings: Chart Data Type (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Chart Data Type Settings menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
