I encountered an issue where the software required me to connect to a live trading account to continue using it. While I have a live account with Iron Beam, the process necessitated submitting a connection request to them and then an additional request back to use their platform. Since I don’t trade on Sierra Chart and primarily use it for footprint analysis, this requirement was unexpected. Fortunately, I also have an account with Interactive Brokers, which allowed me to connect temporarily, though it later disconnected. If I hadn't had this secondary account, I wouldn’t have been able to use Sierra Chart today. This raises a concern why does the software require users to reconnect with a live broker account every month? This dependency disrupts workflow and creates unnecessary complications for users who may not actively trade but rely on the platform for analytical purposes. |
