The amount of data that is initially downloaded for a new symbol is determined by the setting for "Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download". There are settings for 1-tick data and non-1-tick data. Refer to the following:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings)

Regardless of the above, if you only want to view 1 day in your chart, then ensure that the setting for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Days to Load for Intraday Charts" is set to 1.

After a new symbol has the data initially downloaded, then that full amount of data will show in your chart regardless of your Days to Load. You then just need to force a recalculation to get the 1 day to show. You can do this by selecting "Chart >> Recalculate".
