There is the following setting: Chart Drawing Tools: After Single Tool Use Change To (Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> General >> Tool Options) But this is a global setting and not per chart. So we are not sure we are fully understanding the situation you are describing, as you state that some charts work one way while others work a different way.
