When you select the chart, and then choose Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart, is the checkbox checked or unchecked for Use Global... ??? Also assuming you are on a current build to rule out anything there. works for me on v2564. You should not have to connect/disconnect or close/open your chartbooks, but could be good troubleshooting steps as well.
