Do not change the items that are not enabled. Given the colors you are stating, you should be seeing a White number in that field with a black background. Try changing the color of the three backgrounds to something other than black, either a grey - or something wild like hot pink and then select OK. The idea is to see if you see the change to the background and then whether the text is displayed in black for some reason.
