Start by opening the Sub-Instance and when the login screen comes up select Cancel to stop the automatic login. Then deselect the option for Open Files on Startup. Then select OK to continue the login.

Since the system is not opening any chartbooks you should be able to interact with the software. Please open a new chartbook by selecting File >> New Chartbook and then open a chart using File >> Find Symbol. Make sure everything is working as expected. If the software does not lock up, then there is something about your other chartbook that is causing a problem. You should try to get one of the backups of that chartbook and see if you can get one of them to work. Refer to the information here:
