The idea of how they are to be used is that the Global Graphics are the settings you want for all charts. Any chart you want to be different needs to us the Chart Graphics settings, which means having a different starting point from the Global Graphics. If you are going to want to modify something in your charts on a reasonable basis (you would need to figure out how often this would be) then we would recommend setting up a single chart as a template that uses the Chart Graphics Settings. Then duplicate that chart to any new chart you want and then modify from there.
