I have just set up a connection and it worked well the last two days.
But the key was to replace the "Rithmic Paper trading servers" with "APEX Chicago Area" (or an area closer to your location).

I see "Rithmic 01-Chicago Area-Non-Aggregated" in the log, are you sure you are connecting to the right server?

Unfortunately it is not described too well in the APEX instructions, so there will likely be more users who miss that crucial point. OP, if it fixes your issue you might want to reach out to their support to make it more visible on the related support page (f.e. adding a screenshot?)
