You would need the original source code. If you tell the programmer that you need "the source code such that you can build the DLL yourself" then they should know what to give you.

Generally, what you should get would be a single .cpp file (C++ file having an extension of .cpp). But depending on how they did their code there could be multiple files.

If it is a single file, then it is easiest to use the Remote Build option in Sierra Chart to create your DLL. Refer to the information here:

Building with multiple files would require that you build locally, which is more complicated. If this situation were to arise, then we would recommend finding another programmer that could help you with getting the program built.
