We can not think of a situation where you can not select "Open Trade Window for Chart" but you can select "Attach Trade Window to Chart". The only thing we can think is that you are able to select both of these, but the Trade Window is not showing on the screen when you select "Open Trade Window for Chart". In this is case, select Chart >> Reset Child Windows, and then try selecting Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart and hopefully you will be able to see the trade window. Otherwise, please give us a screenshot of the menu as you state it is "dulled out" so we can see what it looks like.
