Post From: Setup Simulation for New User (to include simulated account balance, etc.)

I'm a new user of SC. I have now configured it pretty much to my liking and am preparing to trade. To do this and get used to SC, I want to use the simulation system for a short while. I placed a trade today with Simulation enabled and noticed that there is no position showing per se, no simulated account balance (no way to set one up, etc.) I then read this: Simulated Futures Trading Service and this: Trade Simulation There is so much data and so many pages that it's hard to keep up. This is my understanding: if I want to have a simulated account balance, show simulated positions (as opposed to only showing orders), I cannot use the simple simulation feature but should change the trading service to "Trading Evaluator" (which will disable my regular real/live trading account CQG.) But It seems that I also would have to install an new (sub) instance and use THAT to select the above "trading Evaluator" service? If this is correct, is there a way to install a sub-instance WITHOUT having to reconfigure everything, charts, custom indicators, etc. Any help, suggestions and shortcuts here would be helful. Thanks. |
