There are two different ways to enter a symbol through the keyboard, depending on whether a file exists for the symbol or does not. Refer to the following and the section after it: Changing the Symbol of a Chart: Quickly Changing the Symbol of a Chart to a Symbol for which a Data File Exists What you have happening is that you must not have opened a chart for AMZN in the past, therefore the system is opening the first file it can find that matches closest to what you typed in. If you do not know if you have a file or not, then the safest way to do this is to use the '/' option as defined when you do not have an existing file. It will get the data for the entered symbol whether the file exists or not.
