This is not true at all: The SC team is ignoring the fact that they have broken the damn IBKR support.
You need to use the proper symbol format required by Interactive Brokers. You cannot complain to us about what is required by Interactive Brokers. Interactive Brokers has no support whatsoever for a simplified stock format. It does not exist.. Supporting a simplified stock format for US stocks, is only provided as a convenience and is not guaranteed to work. At any time, there can be an issue due to changes on the Interactive Brokers side. Anyway we have looked into this and we now see why there is a problem. Sierra Chart no longer specifies the default currency code of USD when SMART is used, in this case in the background, because that is not valid. That was being done in the past. Although this change was back in March 2020. So not recent. So if there was a problem after that date that has occurred, it certainly is not clear to us at all why that is the case. In the case of a symbol like AAPL there were no custom symbol settings set up for it but we have done that now. Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings So there never has been any real problem on the Sierra Chart side. You just need to use the complete symbol format and that is something that we have specified, more than a year ago.
