The first thing we want you to do is to open the Chartbook you are wanting to work with and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service. This will update the symbols that were set for each chart to the service you have selected (sounds like CQG in your case).

Let us know if that resolves your issue or not.

With regards to the chart messing up, the easiest thing is to simply not save it. Then close the Chartbook (again, do not save) and then you can re-open the Chartbook and it will be in the state from the last save.
