Yes, it is in the newer versions only. Yes this is true: There's no mention in the change log for the requirement to switch to "Advantage/Stage 5" in version 2328.
It is not something we would normally mention because internally "Advantage" is a new item at the end of the list, but we realize it does lead to a problem now that we think about how the port settings are chosen.
