We are not sure exactly the situation you are trying to describe. The only thing we can think is that you are going back to a point prior to having enough bars in the chart for the ATR to calculate (i.e. 100 or 300 bars respectively). Keep in mind the ATR will not show a value until it gets to the number of bars specified in the study.
