I have gone through the procedure successfully. From what I have understood, the instruction here Easy Solution to CME Funded Trading Account Requirement might be just a little bit imprecise. I will share my experience and SC staff will decide whether they need to update it.

When a customer opens an AMP account and funds it, they then should choose 'Sierra Chart-Denali-CQG (No data - Order Routing only)' option when setting up platform/exchange data at this page https://clients.ampfutures.com/live-trading-setup-request. This is an indispensable step, trading platform must be set up to get verified at SC.

After that they receive CQG trading platform login and link to set up the password. After that is done, the customer should switch on SC platform go to File/ Data/Trade Service Settings and choose CQG WebAPI and enter their CQG login and password. After successfully logging in (restart of platform might be required) with this option on SC they can go to AMP verification page https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=AMPTradingAccountVerification enter their AMP account number and get verified. After that they can change their Data/Trade Service Settings on SC platform back to whatever they choose.

Here is the right procedure, so to say, at least the one I went through. Hope that helps.
