I am using a Historical Chart for symbol GCQ21-COMEX. Try it yourself. Enter a date range of 1974-01-01 to 2021-06-01, then under "Advanced Settings" select "Continuous Futures Contract - Date Rule Rollover." You will find that the oldest data will be back to 1990. Then when you look under c:\SierraChart\data, you will find that SierraChart has downloaded historical charts for GCQ21-COMEX in the format GCZ90.dly instead of GCZ90-COMEX.dly. It appears that for the format GCZ90.dly, historical files are only available back to 1990. But, if you try to open historical files for the format GCZ74-COMEX.dly, then historical files are available all the way back to 1974. If the Continuous Futures Contract utilizes the new symbol format instead of the old symbol format to download historical data, then more historical data is available. Thank you.
