If you got a "Download Failed" message, then the historical data download definitely did fail. We do not control the TD Ameritrade server. It does not mean there would be missing data because maybe there was no new data to download. Also how long should it normally take to update the intraday files (after having downloaded the SCID file)? Last night it took something like 3-4 hours to download SCID files for nearly 400 symbols, is that normal? or again is it because the market isnt open? Completely impossible for us to answer. We do not provide the TD Ameritrade server. We do not know anything about your Internet connection. There are way too many variables here and answering this is not within the scope of our support.
