We received this email from you: Dear Business @ Sierracharts I have this evening had a very unsettling chat with your support team. This afternoon I noticed a major issue with forex data, in particular the EURUSD. There was a 30+ pip difference between the SC data and that of two other brokers LCG and ETX. I made trades on the basis of the SC data as SC is my primary data and charting platform, but got stopped out almost immediately as a result of the incorrect data. SC support didn't notice this issue for over 1 hour However, when I raised the issue to your support team, I was met with an acerbic and offhand response, essentially informing me that I should trust the data provided to me by SierraCharts through the package I pay for. Further I was accused of being abusive for stating facts I enclose two images of the conversation. I would be interested in your view on the reliability of the data through SC. Do I need to advise my 200+ friends who use SierraCharts, that according to SierraCharts support team, SC provided Forex data is not to be trusted? This is not what we said: essentially informing me that I should All of the information is above. trust the data provided to me by SierraCharts through the package I pay for. Do I need to advise my 200+ friends who use SierraCharts, The problem was with FXCM. After further review and contemplation, it does appear as though their system became overloaded in some way and the FXCM transmission of data from FXCM was lagging behind significantly. And therefore based upon your experience, FXCM data is "not to be trusted", then yes immediately inform your 200+ friends of this. Immediately tell them. This does not matter to us.that according to SierraCharts support team, SC provided Forex data is not to be trusted? We do have alternatives. If users are not trading on FXCM, then in general they should probably avoid using that data. We recommend they trade Forex futures through the CME and use the Denali data feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed And use the Sierra Chart order routing service: Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service These services are well above and beyond trading cash Forex using FXCM data. This is going to be the preferred proper solution. Move to a regulated exchange instead of trading cash Forex where there is not a centralized source of data. For cash Forex trading we support LMAX: LMAX Trading Service Right now you can get started with a demo account with them and can receive their demo data. That should be fine. But do evaluate this. There is no cost to get started with this. So please let your friends know this. Full instructions are right here: LMAX Trading Service: Setup Instructions Where are your 200+ friends trading cash Forex and why are they trading cash Forex? Do any of them use metatrader? Please let us know when you can. We want to understand what the needs are so we can develop a proper solution. That proper solution is not going to involve FXCM data. It will involve a full unified solution of data and an order routing combination. Now the other thing that you can do right now is use the delayed exchange data feed: Delayed Exchange Data Feed For example you can use the symbol E6U20 (6E CME futures). This data is delayed by 10 minutes, but it is going to be better than the apparent up to one hour delay from FXCM. Which really is a bit ridiculous it was delayed that much. But that was not from the Sierra Chart side. It was an external issue from FXCM. SC support didn't There was never anything we could have done about this. It was never within our control. We were aware there was a problem sooner but it takes time to understand it. So this point is completely irrelevant.notice this issue for over 1 hour ----- There is also the Small Exchange that we are adding support for and they offer a lot of small contracts on a true US CFTC regulated exchange. They have a dollar index contract. This is where our focus is, rather than providing cash Forex feeds, and having no control over the quality of those feeds. We instead want to provide high-quality data and order routing to our customers and provide a safe low-cost trading environment on regulated exchanges.
