1. Correct, you do not need to "record" the basic data for a replay, as this information is always recorded/saved whenever you connect Sierra Chart to your data feed.

The only data that does need to be "recorded" is the Market Depth. There is no historical Market Depth available yet. Therefore, during a replay it will only show what has been recorded. Refer to the information here:

2. It does not matter how you are viewing the data as to what is recorded. The data is stored at the level that you have defined in Data/Trade Service Settings. Refer to this setting here:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings)
