There is nothing wrong with the display of the VbP. What you are seeing is due to having the Volume Bar Calculation Method set to Diagonal Ask Volume - Bid Volume, and then having the Bid Volume and Ask Volume Coloring Method set to Difference of Bid and Ask Volume Coloring. This means that there is a large difference between Bid and Ask at that price level, but this is not necessarily true of the Diagonal Calculation. Just change the Bid Volume and Ask Volume Coloring Method to something that reflects what you are looking for.
